800 years ago merchants from all over the world settled down on the crossing of two important
trading roads, the Via Imperii (North – South – route) and the Via Regia (East-West-Route).
They founded the settlement Lipz, today´s “Leipzig” (in Latin: LIPSIA).
Since then LIPSIA has been standing for trade, open-minded people and innovation as well as
technical and cultural progress. As the oldest trade fair place in Europe Leipzig developed to
a centre of book-art, culture, trade, science and mechanical engineering.
Prominent people, as Goethe, Schiller, Bach, Mendelssohn or Heisenberg worked and lived
here.
In autumn ´89 Leipzig was the starting spark for the peaceful revolution in Germany.
We as LIPSIA Fördertechnik GmbH wants to combine tradition and progress and is able to provide
effective solutions in the area of material handling technology for national and international
customers.
Whether food or non-food, continuous or uncontinuous, piece goods or bulk,

History of company
In 1995, Graduate Engineer Steffen Hahn founded a mechanical engineering company with
specialization in material-handling technology. At the outset only constructed
conveyors, later an own fabrication was added in Leipzig.
Due to increasing orders, the company moved to the industrial park Brandis in 1999.
2 years later, the factory building was doubled in size and several new offices were built.
To handle the increased order number properly, another factory building was attached in June 2008.
